It has always been my dream to run a clinic usings shuttles in the Diamond Head area in Squamish. Imagining a group of women stoked on bikes and progression, in an environment where learning is easy. We can take our time to piece together trails if we get to repeat them especially when jumps and drops are on the menu. Everything came together for this Kona x Jo&Co event with the help of the Shred shuttles.
The day had a relaxed and local vibe; we were fueled by the local bakery Tall Tree, got to practice jump skills on sender ramps and played on fresh trails. After lapping the lower mountain, full of well built features, we had lunch at the top of the network with a classic sea to sky view. We finished with a top to bottom adventure and fatigue was met by cold drinks and swag prizes.
Most notable was that most of the riders had never experienced shuttling before. It was exciting to help facilitate a new experience. Most Riders descended more than they ever had in one day. We were able to dial in specific skills in a controlled environment and then face challenges and fears during our big top to bottom ride which linked together a few more technical and raw sections
